Rockaway Valley School Athletics

1. FORMS - All documents must be completed in Genesis. In addition, a recent sports physical (medical eligibility form) must be uploaded and approved by the nurse.

2. COMMITMENT - Since practice is the only way one can improve skills and play, you need to make the commitment to practice and play as often as possible; the schedule set by your coach is firm. Be present at the practice; no cell phones are permitted at any time during practices or games.

3. SEASONS - Soccer and Cross Country are Fall sports, September - early November. Basketball season is November - early February. Softball, baseball and Track & Field are Spring sports, March - early June.

4. PRACTICE TIME - Practices take place at school or RVA Fields. All coaches communicate weekly schedules with their athletes. All athletes are expected to wear appropriate practice attire.

5. ABSENCES - A player who is ill or injured must notify the coach by email, phone, or parental note stating reason for excuse.

6. PLAYING TIME - Playing time is not given by the coach - it is earned by the player. Playing time is based on ATTITUDE, PERFORMANCE, and TEAMWORK!!! Players are always encouraged to speak to the coach if there are questions/concerns with playing time.

7. PICK UP FROM AN AWAY GAME - All students are expected to ride the bus to and from an away game. If for some reason a parent must take their child from an away game, go to the school website, www.rvsnj.org and download the private transportation form to hand to the coach.

8. PAY TO PARTICIPATE - Students who are selected for our teams will be required to pay a fee of $75 to participate. Pay through your Genesis account (School Pays) or by check. Checks must be made out to the Boonton Township Board of Education.
