Dear Rockaway Valley School Community,

I am honored to serve as the Superintendent/Principal of Rockaway Valley School, a vibrant community where I am excited to embark on this journey together with you.

As a proud parent of two—my daughter is a 19-year-old college student, and my son is a 17-year-old high school student—I understand the importance of fostering a supportive and enriching environment for our students. My educational career spans over two decades, including 12 years as the principal of an elementary school in Millburn/Short Hills. Prior to that, I served as the vice principal of Millburn Middle School and as an instructional supervisor. I began my teaching career in Summit, where I spent ten years as an elementary school teacher. I also had the unique experience of teaching English in Japan, working with K-12 students, primarily in middle and high school, and I have a background in special education as well.

My foremost goal as your superintendent/principal is to create an environment where both our students and staff can thrive. Safety and security are our top priorities; every student deserves a safe place to learn and grow, and I am committed to upholding the high standards our community expects.

I believe that children learn through their experiences and interactions within the school environment. Every individual in our school community plays a vital role in shaping the lives of our students. The way we engage with one another and respond to challenges serves as powerful lessons for our children. Being an educator is not just a profession; it’s a profound responsibility and an incredible opportunity to inspire the next generation.

I am here to support you in any way I can. I encourage you to share your thoughts, ideas, and any concerns you may have. Please feel free to reach out to me at kfrattini@btrvs.org.

Thank you for your continued support and dedication to our school community. I look forward to an exciting school year ahead, filled with growth, learning, and collaboration!

Sincerely,

Ken Frattini
